LAYOUT SHARE ....

.... managed to squeeze in a layout whilst the house was quiet ....

A Lazy Day At Home goodies

... here are the goodies that I had to play with ... the pattern papers are from Jenni Bowlin, Basic Grey and that super cute house paper from Ki Memories ... lettering from Pink Paislee and a fun bingo card from Jenni Bowlin ...

A Lazy Day At Home close

... quiet partial to a few clouds here and there on my layouts ...

A Lazy Day At Home image

... the photo is a little wonky, sorry about that .... a layout idea for all of us, photos of just chilling out and not doing much at all .... these were taken on the first weekend of holidays and Evie was content to be inside and hang out ... this layout is available as a take away pack at Cut & Paste .

Brett, Jack and Evie arrived home last night .... the kids both had lots of stories to tell ... Freddie was excited to see them all this morning ... lots of clapping and following them all around ... Jack and Eve obviously enjoyed the break from each other as they are best mates this morning ... could all change by lunch time.

Day 292

Saturday was 292, Freddie enjoyed some outside time whilst I watered the plants ... I think that he had a little competition with himself to see how many pebbles he could fit in his mouth at one time ....

IMG_1089.jpg a

.... lots ... he was happy to find big pebbles at the wood pile yesterday, Day 293 ...

Day 293

.... Freddie newest trick is pointing ... he points at something and babbles away in his own lingo ... obviously he thinks he is telling a story ... today, Day 294, helping me get the clothes off the line thinking he is very clever standing up with the help of the clothes trolley  ...

Day 294

Tomorrow we are off to Sydney for a few days .... visiting my sister and her family ... will be back on the weekend with photos and stories to share ... until then, thanks for stopping by.

WHILE THEY'RE AWAY .....

  • no toothpaste covering the bathroom sink and mirror
  • no empty toilet rolls in the loo
  • no apple cores on the coffee tables
  • no TV remotes stuffed down the side of lounge chairs
  • no I'M HUNGRY calls one hundred thousand times a day
  • no shoes at the front door
  • no PJs lying on the floor
  • no nagging to make beds
  • no (well, limited) washing
  • no refereeing arguments
  • no socks out by the sandpit
  • no cooking
  • no watching Friday night football
  • no yelling
  • no waking up to the TV blaring in the lounge room
  • no questions that need answers
  • no being nagged for things at the supermarket
  • no towels on the bathroom floor

.... it has been quite lovely really ... my little mini break with Freddie ... today is actually our first day at home ... I almost feel guilty that I have enjoyed my 4 days with the kids and Brett being away ... I do miss them but I know that they will return and it will be like they have never been away ... everything will be back to normal in no time at all ...mini breaks are good for everyone, helps us appreciate each other again.

Freddie and I have been quite busy actually ...Wednesday we had jobs to do in town ...

Day 289

... Day 289 for Freddie, still in his PJs at lunch time, just waking up from his morning nap ... then it was off to town for the afternoon .... noticed that his 4th tooth has finally made its way through the gum .... hopefully Freddie will have a break from new teeth for a few weeks ... ease up on the red cheeks and rank nappies.

Day 290

... Thursday, Day 290, we were up bright and early and drove to Toowoomba for a shopping fix ... Freddie was such a good boy ... he spent the entire day in the car or in the pram and was happy to do so ... little bit cranky in the car for the last half an hour but I just turned up the tunes and sang louder!

Day 291

Yesterday, Day 291, off to town yesterday for a hair appointment ...

P1010019.jpg a

... someone was a wee bit tired on the way home ...we then did all the farm jobs that the kids usually do ... fed the pig, sadly one pig escaped on Monday and another died from gutsing itself on too much grain in typical pig fashion, so now there is just Pig ...

IMG_1035.jpg a

... it was quite cold yesterday afternoon and windy ....

IMG_1048.jpg a

... after successfully feeding Pig and not letting him escape we then fed the chooks and collected the eggs .... and then fed the cats and Neddie .... and walked inside to this ....

IMG_1059.jpg a

... so proud of my fire making ability ... usually the kids bring in all the fire wood and Jack cleans out the fireplace and gets it going ... who knew that I was so clever with some wood and a match and about 3 fire starters!

So today is our last day at home before Brett, Jack and Evie get home tomorrow ... an entire day at home .... I must admit that the house is extremely quiet, just turned up my tunes to make it feel less empty .... I am going to scrapbook .... I am going to eat the last of the pumpkin soup that I have been eating all week ... I am going to put the dishwasher on for the first time all week ... I am going to watch whatever I want on TV .... I might even squeeze in an afternoon nap .... yes, I am going to enjoy the last day of my mini break.

Twilight-movi446546

Oh, I finished the last book in the Twilight series ... wasn't my favourite out of the 4 ... no surprises really and I thought that the ending was predictable .... on Tuesday night I finally watched the movie ... so pleased that I had read the books first ... obviously I knew what to expect with Edward and Bella thanks to all the gossip mags ... but some of the other characters were just wrong .. Jasper and Carlisle looked very scary in the movie, not how I had pictured them at all ...

Jasper-alice-twilight

... Alice was like I had imagined as was Jacob although I did think his hair looked like a really bad wig ...

Twilight-movie-jacob

... thanks goodness he looks better in the next movie ...

Newmoon_taylor_lautner-535x356

.... and yes, remained loyal Jacob fan to the end .... anyway, no more Twilight until New Moon is released.

Right, I am off to enjoy my last GUILT FREE day at home with just Fred and Ned ... thanks for stopping by.

IT'S QUIET, VERY QUIET ....

Day 288

... this afternoon, Freddie and I waved goodbye to Daddy, Jack and Evie ... Brett and Jack are off on a little fishing expedition and Evie is spending some time with Brett's sister and various cousins .... Freddie looked so sad waving them off ....

IMG_1012.jpg a

... it's nice to have a peaceful house but also a little weird ... I am sure I will get over it and enjoy some time out .... Freddie is so busy at the moment that there will be no time to be bored ....

Day 285

... Saturday was Day 285, here he is sitting up in Dad's ute ready to go for a drive ... so loves sitting up front ... every couple of minutes he would look at me whilst I was driving and give me a big grin ...

Day 286

... Sunday. Day 286, was chill out at home day ... Freddie loves to cruise around the house with something, he's not fussy, hanging out of his mouth ... Jack and Evie are slowly learning NOT to leave their things lying around ... might have had something to do with the Nintendo game Freddie had in his mouth ... Evie is totally in holiday mode ....

IMG_0974.jpg a

IMG_0992.jpg a

IMG_0993.jpg a

... sleeping in ... TV time .... cooking ... reading .... TV time .... eating and TV time ... no photos of Jack as he was off doing cattle work with Brett  and then he learnt to drive the tractor and actually drove it back to the shed ... he was pretty proud of himself.

Day 287

Yesterday, Day 287, testing out the 4 wheeler with his big brother ... Jack is so patient with Freddie ... loves showing and teaching him new things ... so lovely to watch!!

Nothing on the scrapbooking front ... still cleaning up the mess I made whilst creating the 5 JULY DOUBLE UP layouts .... there are a few competitions that have kind of grabbed my attention ... I like entering but I don't like creating specific layout for a competition, much prefer just entering existing layouts then there is no pressure .... ummmm, will keep thinking about it ... alrighty then, I am off to enjoy the serenity, thanks for stopping by.

Jack and Evie had their last day of school today ... 2 weeks of holidays, will be nice to have a break from the school routine and just chill out a bit (hopefully) ... received their report cards .... Eve got all As for Achievement and Effort and was so very proud of herself, we were very proud too ... Jack was totally wounded that he didn't get all As, one B in Space and a couple of Bs and Cs for effort, and his little sister did better than him ... I think that he has learnt a lesson and will be striving a little harder next term!

No other news today ... until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by.
